Alignment / Brakes / Oil Change Technician

Looking for a wheel alignment technician with 2+ years experience doing alignments. This role will include wheel alignments, oil changes, topping off fluids, checking and replacing brakes; it will also include driving customers' vehicles onto the alignment lift and test driving the vehicles.

Our main focus is finding a person who can do wheel alignments on our Hunter alignment machine.

You have:

• 2+ years experience doing wheel alignments
• Past experience with Hunter alignment machine
• Valid Driver’s License in the US
• Experience doing oil changes and brakes
• Reliable transportation to our location in Brooklyn - we need someone who can arrive on time!
• Confirmable employment references

We offer:

• Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Hourly rate $16.50 + tips
• Paid vacation

Sales Representative

Brooklyn's Oldest and largest tire dealership is seeking a full-time and part time counter sales representative for retail/wholesale telephone and front desk sales.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Answering phones to give tire price quotes from our computers.
• Emailing quotes (by cutting and pasting quotes and responses).
• Customer service (we will need you on occasion to walk out to customers' cars, check their tires, and guide them to the correct place to park so as to free up the entrance and exit driveways).
• Assisting the owner and staff with other operational tasks around the business (rolling or moving tires, checking stock, and doing various paper work for tires).

You will need legible, or at the very least easily decipherable, handwriting for others to read your invoices of tires sold. You will be handwriting the bills for the tires you sell to customers (invoices/bills are forms that are self explanatory. For example: it will say the quantity, price, make, model, year of car, tax, total price).

You will need to know how to do basic math and we provide the calculator for faster BASIC addition, subtraction, and multiplication (we will teach you how to calculate tax and any other math that might come up when handwriting the bills).

You must be on the property, WILLING AND ABLE to work before the start of your work day at 8:00 a.m. when we open and start helping customers. Monday through Saturday preferred. Arrive early to find parking or take public transport. We are right under the D Train. The subway stop is a block down. The 86th street N,Q,W is also close by, about a 10 min walk (0.5 mi). The F train is around a 16 minute walk (0.9 mi), down 86th street at Avenue X.

Schedules are negotiable but once agreed upon, it will be set and we expect you to show up or tell us in advance (at least a day before) if you will not be able to come in so we can make other arrangements.

We are willing to train a motivated candidate that fits the fast paced, busy culture of this exciting job and follows directions well. Training is paid.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

• Speaking other languages besides English.
• Can read a tire's size off the sidewall of a tire (we provide a flashlight if needed).
• 1 or more years selling tires.
• 1 or more years previous retail experience.
• 1 or more years previous experience in the automotive industry.
• Not looking for career advancement, just a steady paycheck that can increase over time and a fun, interesting work environment (great opportunity for retirees).
• Monday to Saturday is preferred but schedule is negotiable. 3 days a week or just Saturdays.
• Candidates who live in Brooklyn, as the job's location is in Brooklyn.

Preferred Candidate Skills:

• Multitasking (it can be very busy here).
• Can write legibly.
• Having patience for customers from diverse backgrounds with different accents.
• Good communication skills are highly valued.

Preferred Candidate Qualities:

• Willingness to learn.
• Can follow directions.
• Mature adults welcome and retirees get preference!
• Ability to work full shifts Mon-Sat or be able to split schedules with other sales staff.
• Bilingual or multilingual is wonderful and preferred, but we need you to speak and understand English first and foremost.
• Reliable transportation is a must.
